Not quite finished
Yesterday was a pinnacle, but the expedition isn't quite finished until we leave Antarctica. Got back to base camp at Patriot Hills in the middle of the night, and now we're waiting out the wind. The last gust hit our tent at 70 knots. Intense. We're not alone, however. There are several other teams here trying to get out as well. So, we're trading stories and making new friends.
In the meantime, let's address Mr. Games class questions: How cold does it get at night? It's 24 hours of daylight down here right now, so "night" really doesn't exist. So, it's the same temperature (COLD) all day long. The other question was can we start a fire? There is no wood to make a fire with in Antarctica. In fact, there's not a single tree on the whole continent. So, no fire. We do get warm during breakfast and dinner in the tents as the cook stoves put off some good heat.
Hope for the winds to die. We'll continue to blog until we leave Patriot Hills.
Take care and sending our love to everyone for their support,

Well I guess it's better to have 70 mph winds now than when you were on the trek.
I hope the wait to get back will not detracked from what you've achieved, but we are all missing you Naomi and look forward to having you home.
Any guesses on the timing of the flight to Chile ?
Loads of love John,Tom and Jamie.

Absolutely amazing Naomi and the rest of the team! Superwomen without doubt! The words "well done" just don't seem enough. I am sitting here rebooking you on a different flight out of Santiago every day. Becoming on first name terms with the reservations staff! Hilarious....
Get back soon so we can hear all about it.
