Polar Opposites at the bottom of the world

We made it! We are now among of handful of women in the world who have trekked to both North and South Poles. We are tired but happy.
The station personnel at the Scott-Amundsen South Pole research station gave us a nice reception. It was nice to be warm for awhile.
We're now flying in the ski plane back to basecamp at Patriot Hills. If the weather holds, we'll hope for that big Russian plane to fly us back to Chile sometime tomorrow.
We'll send more details tomorrow. Thanks for all your warm wishes and thoughts. They helped us put one foot in front of the other and achieve our goal.

Dear Marion and Co
We are SO proud of you all - what a wonderful achievement. I've been following your progress whilst on holiday in Oman - where the weather was a lot more hospitable than the temperatures you have been facing!
Well done, and come back safely,
Best wishes from Glenys and all the Team at the South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust in Middlesbrough and Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
Jennifer - Congratulations!! Well done for reaching the bottom! Such exciting news - everyone is thrilled! Looking forward to the photos! Will you be treating us to a cabaret at the next Christmas Party? Expect we'll have to turn the heating down when you return.
Lots of love

Wow! South Idaho Press did a nice article on your adventures, Kathy. It was fun to read that you've been exploring the world. High school seems like forever ago so it's good to hear that you are doing really well.
